Senses and responds to MDF Fragmentation

Query performance is directly tied to primary database file and Index fragmentation. Inserting and deleting rows from the tables and indexes adversely affects the database structure, causes fragmentation and the sorted order of the indexes. SQL Database Defragmenter detects this fragmentation and defragments the MDF file and indexes for complete SQL Server defragmentation

There are often many databases in a single SQL Server instance. One or more of these databases may have a fragmented primary database file. When this happens the entire instance must be taken offline to address the fragmented primary database file. Policy-base fragmentation management

SQL DBD database fragmentation is identified by SQL Database Defragmenter (SQL DBD). SQL DBD allows you to specify the fragmentation threshold for the primary data file. Once the threshold is exceeded the defragmentation process will begin during a predetermined maintenance outage.
